Review | Lucy Bee – Extra Virgin Organic Coconut Oil

Lucy Bee - Coconut Oil

Lucy Bee – Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is one of the few oils that has been proven to be able to penetrate the hair shaft. Since discovering this, I’ve been wanting to buy a jar for a long while. I kept telling myself,

“Nah it’s too expensive… it’s a bump.”

I had my eye on the jar that Holland and Barrett have. Then… I found this. More for a bit less: Lucy Bee Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. The link will take you to a page on Amazon where you can buy the oil. Click here to have a look at their actual website…

I would honestly give this product, this many stars:

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐

I can be very sceptical when it comes to things being real or not. This stuff is real. Trust me.

Research. It is also very important that you do your research and that the products you’re using are genuine. Otherwise, you will definitely get different results with your hair. Reading reviews will also help you to get an idea of what it will do for you.

It smells so good too (if it’s a good oil, the smell will be a gentle coconut smell; nothing too harsh) – Another thing that confirmed this as a genuine product; it’s a sign that it hasn’t been through any processing. Processing takes away much needed nutrients too. Good quality coconut oil should be white before melting and clear and colourless after melting. If you see any other colour, question the quality of the product. Pure coconut oil has no colour, so if you do see colour, it has most probably been polluted/altered 😕

As soon as I apply it to my hair, it feels nourished and looks so shiny (not hideously shiny – amazingly shiny). When I seal with this stuff, my hair stays moisturised for up to 3 days 😀 – amazing and just what I need. Even when it hardens up (in the jar) after melting, it still melts away in your fingertips and is easy to apply. If you would rather use it in its melted form, here are two ways I’ve done this:

1. 10 mins before you need to use it – on a warm day – leave it by the window. It will melt in minutes.

2. Place some scoops in a container and place that container over hot water. (Or you could just place the whole jar in hot water… ❗ make sure it’s not boiling though)

❗ I would avoid using a microwave, because you don’t want to risk destroying the quality of your coconut oil…

Another reason why I would recommend this particular product, is because the price is amazing for the amount that you get. To some of you, it may still be a bit of money. However, when it comes to oils like this, you get what you pay for. Don’t fall into the ‘trap’ of buying cheap oils – most of them are also cheap in quality and will do nothing for your hair.

If you go ahead and buy this, please let me know what you think in the comments.

Thanks for reading!
