I’ve started writing a book, yup, just gonna throw it out there. Ever since I was young, I’ve always loved writing my own stories (let me know if you want me to share some paragraphs, eek). I remember writing quite a long novel about a boy called Seth. I lost it 😦 but I have a feeling I printed it out and it might be in my old room at my mum’s house. I hope it’s there; I was so proud of that book and all the characters that I had created.
At school, English was by far my favourite lesson. I just loved reading and creative writing. In year 8 I used to write a novel at the back of my English book. My teacher Mr Murray used to read it and he liked it. That book is also at my mum’s house I think. I’m going to go on a mission to retrieve all of these little books that I wrote.
Some time ago I came up with the idea of writing a Christian fiction novel. Something packed with drama and a book that will cause readers to think. Then I dismissed the idea, thinking there was just no way I could do this. I don’t know where that thought came from – I just can’t imagine having my own book published. Even though it’s still early days, and this may not become a reality until a couple more years, I’m excited. I have decided to no longer doubt about this. God wants me to write this book.
My sister, who’s older than me, would also like to write her own book one day. She’s been so supportive and can’t wait to read it already! I’ve already created a front cover for this book. Maybe I’m a little too excited. I wanted to record my thoughts about this here on my blog and also share the start of this journey with you. Do let me know if you have any tips on writing and if you’re an aspiring author yourself.
As always, thanks for reading!
