When it comes to natural hair I think sticking to your staples is definitely your best bet. Finding staple (permanent) products can be hard, but it’s definitely worth it, and you can’t really go wrong using products that are natural or closer to natural than others. Once you’ve found staples, it’s a lot safer to experiment with other things – if something goes wrong, you can ‘run’ back to your staples. Sticking to what I know my hair loves, has definitely helped my hair to flourish. See below, my main staples.
When my hair is feeling really parched, I use my spray bottle and spritz water all over my hair. Then my hair wakes up and I quickly seal it with something. Water is cheap, so we may as well make the most of it!
The coconut oil I use is amazing. I definitely won’t be changing this.
Even though my hair is thick, I don’t use this a much as I used to. I’ve realised my hair only needs this when it’s in really bad shape. If I use it all the time, my hair gets weighed down and icky. Also, naturally, shea butter doesn’t have a great smell, so I use it in the same week as wash day. See post on this here.
