Growing Through Dirt

This quote makes me all teary-eyed, which is why I would like to share my thoughts on it. For me, the past few weeks have not been easy. Don’t get me wrong – I’ve had ups too. I’m surrounded by an amazing network of people that I spend a lot of time with. They make me belly laugh, they encourage me and help me take my mind off things. But sometimes it’s easy to get carried away with too many thoughts and all the bad things that are going on (this is why I don’t allow myself to become isolated. It’s the start of many downfalls).

Anyway, when you walk into a beautiful garden, the main thing you see is flowers. All types of colours, sizes and heights. Tulips, roses, lilies, daisies, buttercups and sunflowers perhaps. So beautiful to look at. But those flowers didn’t always look that way. Beforehand, there was soil and dirt and it wasn’t a very pretty sight. The planted seeds had to spring out of the dirt before the flowers could be formed. When the seed of a plant breaks open, its roots also begin to grow downwards, to anchor the plant. Whatever you’re rooted in, will effect how you survive…

I don’t know what you’re going through right now, but everyone, at some point, has some dirt that they need to grow through. It’s like looking up and all you can see is soil; you can’t quite feel the rays from the sun yet. You just have to remember and trust that things are going to get better. The blooming season will come!
