I always knew olive oil was good for hair. But to be honest, I didn’t know the full reasons why. So, I did some research and decided that it needs to be added to my batch of hot oil treatment posts. This is probably the easiest concoction I’ve posted on here. Let’s get into it!
You will need:
1 cup of olive oil (or more, depending on how much hair you have)
1/4 cup of coconut oil
Heat up plain water, but do not let it boil. Take your hot water off the stove. Then place your contained oil mixture into the water. As I usually say, I wouldn’t use a microwave at any stage. Always test on your wrist before applying. As you apply this to your hair, focus on the parts that need repair. Cover your hair with a plastic cap and let the treatment soak in for 30 minutes. Then shampoo and condition, with products that help with repair, to double things up.
Benefits: Olive oil can actually help your hair reach its healthiest potential. It is packed with antioxidants, promoting scalp health. It naturally conditions hair, making it shiny and soft. I would say that this oil is definitely an all rounder. In other words, if you’re ever wondering what oil to use, you can’t really go wrong with olive oil. Olive oil is also great for scalp massages, because it increases the blood flow, causing the follicles to be stimulated and therefore producing healthier strands!
If you’re not a hot oil kind of person, see my hair smoothie posts here. I will be going back to those as soon as I come up with more ideas.
